Built from the ground up.
Scott Kimbrell trained as a machinist in the U.S. Navy, then spent ten years building his experience as a machinist in DFW. In 2006, Scott and Holly bought a used machine and started the business in their garage.
What started as Kimbrells' Kustom Machine Shop in a garage with one used manual machine has grown, through word of mouth and long-term customer relationships, into Kimbrell Manufacturing Corporation — an integrated industrial partner serving North Texas.
Scott Kimbrell trained as a machinist in the U.S. Navy, then spent ten years building his experience as a machinist in DFW. In 2006, Scott and Holly bought a used machine and started the business in their garage.
After six years of hard work, the company moved into its first standalone building. Holly left teaching to join the business full time.
The business moved into its current approximately 13,000 sq ft Garland facility, with dedicated space for machining, fabrication, shipping, office, and customer-service areas.
The business reached its strongest year to that point — powered by word of mouth, repeat customers, craftsmanship, responsiveness, and being easy to work with.
The Barrett family acquired the business, preserving the experienced team and service culture while repositioning Kimbrell Manufacturing Corporation for its next stage of growth as an integrated industrial uptime partner.
Our standalone Garland facility spans approximately 13,000 square feet, climate-controlled, with dedicated areas for machining, fabrication, shipping, office, and customer service — and a team that has grown to 15 full-time employees serving 100+ customers a year.
Owner words, not marketing copy: honest, integrity-driven, hard-working, reliable, easy to work with, humble-confident, no ego, team-oriented, joyful, and fun to work with.

A third-generation entrepreneur and fifth-generation Texan, Austin was born and raised in the DFW Metroplex.
